Vaccination Clinics

We are working in our Primary Care Network (PCN) to deliver the Covid Vaccinations to our patients. Our PCN consists of five practices which includes Abington Medical Centre 

We will be contacting ALL patient's eligible following the guidance given to us by NHS England.  We will contact you as soon as we can offer you an appointment. 

Please be aware we can only offer clinics as and when we receive delivery of the vaccine, this is not a quick process and will take time,but we will work hard to ensure we can deliver the vaccine as quickly as possible. 

Information regarding our vaccination clinics and how you can help them run smoothly:

  • To help prevent a queue, Please come at the time of your appointment.
  • We can only offer you a vaccination if you have an appointment.
  • There is parking available.
  • Be prepared to wait a short time outside and dress appropriately for the weather.
  • Marshalls and practice staff are on hand in the carpark and in the building to guide you throughout the whole vaccination process.
  • If you need assistance and cannot come alone, you may have one person help and accompany you.
  • Please wear clothing that enables easy access to your arm.
  • Always wear a mask and keep a 2m distance.
  • Be aware you may need to wait for 15 minutes after your vaccination.
  • DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS.

Housebound - We have vaccinated the majority of our housebound patients now, if you are housebound and have not recieved your vaccination, please contact the practice. 

Care Homes - All patients in a registered Care Home have or will be vaccinated and the Practice will organise this with Care Home staff.

Carers/Frontline Health Workers - If you are a frontline health worker or a carer that receives a carers allowance, you can book a vaccination at this link https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

If you are a carer but do not receive a carers allowance and have not informed the surgery that you are a carer, then please ensure you complete  the form on this link to enable the surgery to update your records.https://www.abingtonmedicalcentre.co.uk/tell-us-if-you-are-a-carer-form

Vaccinations are being carried out in priority order as agreed by the NHS England. These are: 

  1. Residents in care homes for older adults and their carers.
  2. 80-year-olds and over and frontline health and social care workers.
  3. 75-year-olds and over.
  4. 70-year-olds and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals.
  5. 65-year-olds and over.
  6. 16- to 64-year-olds with serious underlying health conditions.
  7. 60-year-olds and over.
  8. 55-year-olds and over.
  9. 50-year-olds and over.
  10. Rest of the population (to be determined).
