EXTENDED ACCESS
Local GP practices are working together to offer patients better access to GP and Nurse appointments in Northampton. This means that you will be able to see a GP or Nurse at a time which is more convenient to you. For future bookings please contact the surgery and we will be happy to advise you further
OUR APPOINTMENT SYSTEM
All patients wanting to be seen on the day will be dealt with by a dedicated member of the Urgent Care Team, calls will be taken between 8.00am and 1.00pm for same day care. You will be called back the same day as long as you call before 1.00pm and be offered appropriate treatment and care, which may be a face to face appointment, a prescription, telephone advice or a referral. Patients will be asked to give a detailed description of the problem to the receptionist and what outcome you are hoping to see, some patients may want a prescription, referral, blood test or sick note etc. The more information we have, the quicker and easier it will be to process your request and prioritise your call.
WE HAVE A BP MACHINE FOR PATIENT USE IN OUR WAITING AREA
Patients are welcome to use the machine at any time convenient. A ticket is printed with the BP reading and we ask that our patients either take the ticket into the GP/Nurse they are seeing or place in the box provided in the waiting area to enable us to update our patient records.
SUGGESTION BOX
If you have any suggestions please complete the form provided and place in the box. These suggestions will be discussed with staff and our Patient Participation members to see if we can impliment any suggestions and ideas.
This is not to be used for complaints. The practice has a complaints procedure in place and forms are available in the waiting room near the book shelf for patients to take.
NHS 111 Service
The 111 telephone number has been introduced to make it easier to access local health services. You can call this number when you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 life threatening emergency.
This number is accessible 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is free to call.
To access via a textphone call 18001 111 or if you need an interpreter simply say which language you wish to use when they answer the call.
When you call this number you will be assessed by a highly trained adviser, given advice and directed to the local service that can help you best. This could be A&E, an Urgent Care Centre, Minor Injury Unit, out of hours doctor, nurse or dentist or a late opening pharmacy.
If your need is not urgent and can wait, please call the surgery between our opening hours.
