Travel Information

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel and you are registered at the surgery you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  We will need a travel questionnaire to be completed and returned to the surgery before your booked appointment. (Please click on the link at the bottom of this page). This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below.

Yellow Fever

We are a registered Yellow Fever Centre, if you require a yellow fever injection for travel, the fee is £63.50 for both registered and non-registered patients.  For patients not registered at this practice, please seek travel advice from your own surgery on what is required. If you are advised you need a yellow fever injection by your practice and at consultation with our practice nures it is deemed unnesessary, a fee of £20 will be charged for the travel consultation.

At least 48 hours notice is required to cancel travel appointments failure to inform the surgery will result in a charge of £20.00 being made.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6-8 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the full course of vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS. Please contact the surgery for more information on yellow fever injections.

Travel Health Questionnaire

To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse as this information will be required before you can be seen.
