Your GP Cares
The environment in which GPs are striving to provide services has become more and more challenging due to increased cuts in funding and increased demand on general practice caused by demographic changes, more complex health needs and some care moving out of hospitals into primary care, this is all contributing to unsustainable pressures on GP services.
There are more patients to see, resulting in more referrals, prescriptions and tests to process and more paperwork to read.
Based on the current number of doctors working as GPs, and the staff who support them in the general practice team, there are simply not enough hours in the day to meet everyone’s needs. The increasing demand and workload pressures are leading to low morale and stress causing many GPs and staff to leave the profession or to consider early retirement.
GPs and their practice teams need greater support to deliver high quality services that meet the requirements of all their local patients. You’re GP and Practice staff care about the current situation and want to work with patients and the government to find solutions and provide a better service.
